HP ProBook – a series laptops, designed primarily for business. Hence, data protection, and the matte screen, and strong design. In ProBook 6560b is something else – 3G-modem, and a set of conceivable connections and ports. We can say this laptop is armed to the teeth. However, something it is still not enough.
Like other “probuki” from HP, 6560b looks solid, though very conservative. No bright or shiny items – well, except for the logo on the upper surface of the cap, although he did not particularly stand out.
For assembly without reproach: all parts are well fitted, and the cover is able to lean back more than 180 degrees.Soon it may become the rule.
A variety of connectors and slots there are many, almost every taste: 4 USB 2.0 ports, plus a combined eSATA / USB (total – already five USB-port), analog video output VGA (D-sub), DisplayPort, modem input RJ-11 and Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 port 1394a (wonder who he is useful), microphone input and headphone output.
Even on the lower surface was not without connections – there are ports for connecting the dock and extra battery.
Unfortunately, amidst all this “meat” there was no place for USB 3.0 and HDMI – very strange model is youngish.Especially the lack of HDMI seems strange if DisplayPort – the latter, of course, has its obvious advantages, but the first is more common.
In contrast to the more compact sibling, HP ProBook 5330m , 15.6-inch matte screen with 6560b does not suffer from low viewing angles and better subjective picture shows, there is no sense of distortions. Well, and the ability to tilt the screen more than 180 degrees are also encouraged – yet universal.
A resolution of 1366×768 for this size is small, but not critical. On the other hand, does not have to increase the font settings in the OS – and so the letters are large enough.
The keyboard is now fashionable “island” type. The keys soft, but legible. Since ergonomics is all right: Ctrl where it should be. At first glance, can cause anxiety custom block arrows, but personally I have problems with addiction to it has not arisen. Although this is a subjective point.
Perhaps one of the main advantages of the keyboard – it has a backlight. Moreover, self-regulating. Thanks to her, you can work in complete darkness without external lighting. However, due to the fact that the Russian and Latin alphabet printed the same color, to distinguish the letters “by eye” can be difficult. However, the user wielding blind print is unlikely to pay attention to it.
By the touchpad no complaints – not too smooth or too rough. Is that the button is slightly high, but do not cause discomfort.
It is worth mentioning another important difference from the HP ProBook 6560b younger brother, 5330m: the first does not make noise so loud and is not heated so much. And then the processor and the same in both models – Core i5 2520M. However, this may be due to the fact that the schedule is responsible for the 6560b card ATI Radeon 6470M – it is much more productive integrated Intel HD 3000, which have to be content 5330m.
But Windows, it seems, has a different opinion.
But the mark “graphics for games”, so let me, I will not comment. We leave this parameter to evaluate the specialized tests and games directly. Why Windows decided that the ATI Radeon 6470M is better for Aero (which seems to be true), but worse for the game (if we compare the results with an overview of HP ProBook 5330m), than the Intel HD Graphics 3000 – one she knows.
But before we proceed to the results of synthetic tests, we consider the configuration of the computer more detail.
Test 3DMark Vantage, as expected, the Radeon 6470M rated higher than the integrated graphics from Intel.
Due to the increased graphics performance of the system as a whole, which could not help noticing PCMark Vantage.
If we remember that in addition to computer graphics and the CPU, there is also a sound system, then there ProBook 6560b proved to be a good side. In any case, it is possible to watch movies, even in a noisy place (just do not have to disturb others), a loud, deep voice sounds really impressive.Summing up the results of the performance, I note that this computer is, of course, not for gaming, although some last year’s hits at medium settings still be able to run.
As with other HP ProBook, 6560b installed in the fingerprint scanner and appropriate software for data protection. This aspect we have considered in detail in the review of HP ProBook 5330m, will not be repeated.
What’s more interesting to us because it is working with built-in 3G-modem. By the way, to install the SIM-card is necessary to remove the battery – it closes the slot. HP Connection Manager Utility automatically adjust the access point (APN) of my mobile operator – after switching on the laptop I have only to click “Connect” in this application. No additional software installed on the operator did not have to.
In view of Captain Obviousness remind you that 3G – wireless connection in Windows is managing the same place and control connections Wi-Fi. No wonder this group is called a “wireless connection”.The button with the inscription «SMS» is there for good reason – the program actually allows you to read the sms. However, to send a message to my computer and did not work.
For all its virtues HP ProBook 6560b still seems too expensive. Today a new trend: notebooks, especially expensive, should be easy and work for a long time, even if it is not ultrabuki. With this in 6560b difficult. Lack of HDMI can also be a serious drawback. However, the availability of 3G-modem, convenient backlit keyboard, good screen, a fingerprint reader with a very functional software for it, and an impressive range of slots (except for the HDMI and USB 3.0) still justify a laptop – as a business decision it is quite good.
